In addition to fiddle and violin lessons, I teach guitar lessons for beginner and intermediate students in the Roanoke area.Â
Specializing in flat pick style guitar in the Rock and Roll genre.
What You'll Learn
I begin with what the student wants to learn. From there, I build a curriculum that teaches proper picking technique, fretting, chord shapes, familiarity with the guitar and amplifier, and song structure, all with the aim of getting the student to play the songs they're interested in. Roanoke Guitar Lessons are focused on teaching students what to practice.
Emphasis on FUN
Guitar Lessons should be fun. While learning music takes a lot of effort, at the end of the day, we don't work music. We PLAY music. If we're not having fun, there's not much point. Whether it's country, alt-metal, classic rock, prog rock, etc, my goal at Roanoke Guitar Lessons is to find the music the student is interested in, and use songs in that genre to teach the techniques the student needs to learn. Â
That way, the student is engaged and happy with what they're learning, and eager to show it off.
