About Me
My name is Geoff White, and I have been playing music all my life.
I started Violin lessons when I was four years old. I played all through high school, when I began playing Viola. It was also in high school that I began teaching. My first student was a classmate, and it was then I began to realize my love for teaching music.
I played Viola in my college orchestra in Lexington, Virginia.
I played in the band Sugar Run where I played Fiddle and Mandolin.
My musical friends call me a hybrid violinist/fiddle player. I use influences from classical music, Celtic, Cajun, and Old-Time fiddling.
I also play guitar, bass, piano, ukulele...anything with strings, really.
I live in Roanoke, Virginia with my wife, two dogs, and two cats.
My main fiddle is a Bohemian violin from the early 1800s.
